Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)
I. Product Manual:
This product is industrial grade HPMC. Its main purpose is to use dispersant in the production of PVC. It is the main auxiliary agent for the preparation of PVC by suspension polymerization. In addition, in other petrochemical, building materials, paint removers, agricultural chemicals, inks, textile printing and dyeing, ceramics, paper, cosmetics and other products in the production of thickeners, stabilizers, emulsifiers, excipients, water retention agents, film formation Agents, etc. In the application of synthetic resin, the obtained product can be characterized by regularity of particles, looseness, appropriate specific gravity, and excellent processing property, thereby substantially replacing gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol as dispersing agents. In addition, in the construction industry construction process, it is mainly used in mechanized construction such as wall-laying, stucco decoration, caulking; in special decorative construction, it is used as a paste tile, marble, plastic decoration, high adhesion strength, and can also be reduced The amount of cement used. Used as a thickener in the coatings industry to make the coating bright and delicate, without powder removal, and improve leveling performance. It can be used to paint plaster, paste gypsum, caulking gypsum and water-resistant putty to significantly improve its water retention and adhesion strength. II.Physical and chemical Properties:
1. Appearance: white or off-white powder, odorless and tasteless.
2. Particle size: 100 mesh pass rate is greater than 98.5%; 80 mesh pass rate is greater than 100%.
3. Charring temperature: 280-300 °C.
4. Apparent density: 0.25-0.70g / (usually 0.5g / or so), specific gravity 1.26-1.31.
5. Color change temperature: 190-200 °C.
6. Surface tension: 20% aqueous solution is 42-56 dyn/cm.
7. Solubility: Soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as ethanol/water, propanol/water, dichloroethane, etc. in appropriate proportion. The aqueous solution has surface activity, high transparency and stable performance. Different specifications of the product gel temperature is different, this is the thermal gel properties of HPMC. Solubility varies with viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. The performance of HPMC with different specifications is different. The dissolution of HPMC in water is not affected by PH value.
8. HPMC decreases with the methoxy group content, the gel point increases, the water solubility decreases, and the surface activity also decreases.
9. HPMC also has thickening capacity, salt discharge, low ash content, PH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, excellent film formation and a wide range of enzyme resistance, dispersibility and adhesion.

IV.Dissolution method:
1. Take the required amount of hot water, put it in a container and heat it to above 80 °C. Gradually add the product while slowly stirring. The cellulose initially floats on the water surface, but is gradually dispersed to form a uniform slurry. The solution was cooled with stirring.
2. Or heat 1/3 or 2/3 of hot water to above 85 °C, add cellulose, obtain hot water slurry, add the remaining amount of cold water, keep stirring, and cool the resulting mixture.
3. The cellulose has a fine mesh size, and is present as a separate small particle in the uniformly stirred powder, and dissolves rapidly upon contact with water to form a desired viscosity.
4. Slowly and uniformly add the cellulose at normal temperature, and stir constantly until the formation of a transparent solution.
V.Precautions for packaging, storage and transportation:
Packing: plastic coated polypropylene woven bag or cardboard drum lined with polyethylene film inner bag, net weight per bag (25kg): 25kg. Prevent sun, rain and moisture during storage and transportation.

This product is industrial grade HEMC, It is used as a hydrophilic gel skeleton material for preparing a sustained release preparation, a porogen and a coating agent. It can also be used for thickening, suspending, dispersing, bonding, emulsifying, film forming and water retention of the preparation. Food processing can also be used for bonding, emulsification, film formation, thickening, suspension, dispersion, water retention agent. The daily chemical industry can be used as an additive for toothpaste, cosmetics, detergents, and the like. It is used as a gelling agent for cement, gypsum and lime, and a water retaining agent. It is an excellent admixture for powder building materials.Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is widely used in water-based latex coatings, construction extrusion profiles, biological agents, printing inks, oil drilling, etc., to thicken and retain water, improve construction.
II.Physical and chemical Properties:
1.Appearance: HEMC is white or off-white powder; odorless and tasteless.
2.Solubility: H model in HEMC can dissolve in water below 60 °C, L type can only dissolve in cold water, HEMC is the same as HPMC, and is insoluble in most organic solvents. After surface treatment, HEMC disperses in cold water and does not aggregate, and dissolves slowly, but its pH is adjusted to 8-10 to dissolve quickly.
3. PH value stability: the viscosity changes little in the range of pH 2-12, and the viscosity degrades beyond this range.
4.Fineness: 100% pass rate is 100%; 100 mesh pass rate is ≥99.5%.
5.False specific gravity: 0.27-0.60g/cm3.
6. The decomposition temperature is above 200 °C, and combustion starts at 360 °C.
7. HEMC has significant thickening, suspension stability, dispersibility, adhesion, moldability, water retention and other characteristics.
8.Because the product contains hydroxyethyl, the gel temperature of the product reaches 60-90 ° C, and the hydrophilicity of hydroxyethyl is also high, which also makes the product bonded rate good. Especially in the hot and hot construction in summer, the water retention of HEMC is higher than that of methyl cellulose of the same viscosity, and the water retention rate is not less than 85%.
9. Viscosity stability, mold resistance, and dispersibility are stronger than hydroxyethyl cellulose. It is used in high-quality latex paint to prevent the pigment from flocculation, no agglomeration, no seams in construction and strong hiding power.
10. For building dry mortar, the flexural strength is ≥3.0Mpa; the compressive strength is ≥8.0Mpa.
